This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

2. The type of personal information we collect

Love by Name’s Unique Selling Point (USP) is that we match members based on their full name. Each name is reduced to numbers by our unique matching system and our database will select members whose name shares similar personality traits with selected members.

When you use our platform, the first step is to create an account.

As part of that process, we collect personal information from you that will help build your profile and enable our matching system to find name compatible matches. For example:

· We ask for your Date of Birth, to make sure you are over 18 years of age and to show your profile to compatible matches who are looking for people in your age range.

· We ask for your gender to better match you with people of that preference.

· We are currently a London dating site and we ask for your location (London Borough).

· We ask for your email address to notify you of compatible matches selected by our system.

· We match members based on a full name. The definition of a full name is as follows:

First name – Use your first name exactly as it appears on your birth certificate or if you’ve been adopted use the first name on your adoption certificate. Use this name, regardless of whether you are called by this name now. For example, you may prefer to be called by a middle name instead of your first name. Lastly if you have changed your name by Deed Poll or Declaration at a Solicitor only use the name on the Certificate.

Middle Name(s) – Use your middle name(s) exactly as they appear on your birth certificate or if you’ve been adopted your adoption certificate. Use all middle name(s), regardless of whether you usually use them. For example, you may have middle name(s) that you never use. If you have changed your middle name(s) by Deed Poll or Declaration with a Solicitor, then use the middle name(s) as they appear on the form.

Maiden Name – Women only – Women who have been married/divorced or widowed and have used their husbands last name/surname should fill out this box with their own birth name. If you have never used another last name/surname then do not use this box leave it blank. Instead put your Maiden name, also called a birth name in the Last name/Surname box.

Last Name or Surname

For Men – This is the last name or surname on your birth certificate or if you were adopted then your adoption certificate. If you have changed your name by Deed Poll or Declaration at the Solicitors then only use the last name/surname as it appears on the form.

For Women – If you have never married or used another last name/surname then your birth last name/surname should be filled out in the Last name/Surname box. If you have been married once or more than once then put all married names in this box.

To complete your profile you are asked to share with us additional information, such as interests, education, physical characteristics, photographs – around 16 optional questions.

3. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting support@lovebyname.com.

(b) We have a legitimate interest to collect information to allow us to select compatible matches for you based on your full name, your gender preference and your age requirements.

4. What we do with the information we have

We use the information that you have provided to us in order to match you with other compatible members based on your full name, gender and age requirements. We may share this information within the Love by Name group of businesses.

5. How we store your information (personal data)

The data that we collect from you. Our website servers are situated in the UK and we will take all reasonable steps that are necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

We keep your personal information you entered when you registered as a member only for as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes as permitted or required by applicable law and as laid out in our services’ privacy policy. This means that we will keep information while you have an account with us since we need it to provide the service to you. Once you are no longer a member, the account is not visible on the service anymore. From there, we delete the information subject to our legitimate interests, including legal requirements to retain data subject to litigation purposes.

When you log in to the website we set a session cookie to remember that status as you transit through the website. This is essential to the function of a membership-website and is exempt to consent requirements.
